Honda done studying, now for podiums

MOTUL will again partner Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) in the 2014 Dakar Rally due to take place in Argentina, Bolivia and Chile in January next year.
Motul and HRC also worked together in the Dakar 2013, when HRC returned to the gruelling race after an absence of 24 years.
The factory team will field a five-strong international rider line-up: Helder Rodriguez and Paulo Goncalvez from Portugal, Briton Sam Sunderland, Javier Pizzolito of Argentina and Spaniard Joan Barreda, who was particularly impressive in the 2013 Dakar event by winning four stages.
Honda’s riders used 2013 as a learning curve, but with the launch of the purpose-built Honda CRF450 Rally, the plan is to take some podium spots from KTM.
Motul has also partnered with the 2012 title-winning Honda HRC team in the Japanese Motocross Championship.

In the choking dust of the Dakar, lubrication makes the difference between racing or remaining stranded and Motul’s proven technical reliability in this arena is vital to any manufacturer or competitor. Motul Group’s president of the management board HervĂ© Amelot said there were 20 days of racing and the lubricants we use are a key factor in reliability and success. “This is why it’s so important for us to have technical partnerships with companies such as Motul who are a leader in their field.”
