Cargo scooter inspires lust

LIT Motors, a start-up electric vehicle company based in San Francisco, California, have put a second vehicle on Kickstarter for crowd funding.
Called the kubo, this one has the industry all excited, as these quotes from Kickstarter show:
“It’s a very nifty piece of work. Once you see it, you wonder why something like it hasn’t been made already.” — TechCrunch.
“Electric cargo scooter lust is now a thing.” — AutoblogGreen.
“The scooter looks like a cross between the box-carrying first prototype and a more classic 60s-style Vespa, with a curvy front and retro-looking stylings.” — GigaOm.
“The company’s kubo scooter, however, might be the perfect option for hauling not just ourselves around, but also all of our gear or groceries, without having to fit it all in a backpack.” — Treehugger.
“Innovation can be found in all aspects of the cargo scooter. With its signature clean, white, elegant look inspired by Apple and Scandinavian design, the kubo cargo scooter is unlike any other.” — Future360 RideApart.
Lit Motors said in its kickstarter statement their three founder members, Elliot Ortiz, Zach Levenberg and Danny Kim, were all big fans of two-wheeled vehicles, but they found carrying anything on existing scooters a hassle. So as a side project during their free time, they built the kubo.
A three-kilowatt high-torque rear hub motor with regenerative braking can push the kubo to 70 km/h and its range is a typical 80 kilometres, but it can do this carrying 136 kg.

The seat and rear suspension is height-adjustable and the nose pillar contains a lockable stowage compartment.
