While Tesla and Elio play...

While on one side hand, Elio is using every trick in the snake oil salesman's handbook to get pre-orders, and on the order over 300k people fell over themselves to deposit $1,000 for the Tesla 3, Arcimoto has quietly been making the answer all these people are actually looking for.
With a price of $11 900 (ZAR178 000) Arcimoto from Oregon in the U.S. says its SRK “is the daily electric vehicle for the rest of us”.
The SRK comes with a 12 kW motor propels the roll case on wheels from 0 to 100 km/h in under nine seconds, while riders have the security of racing harnesses, impact crumple zones front and rear as well as side covers that attached in a few minutes to protect against rain and cold.
The base model's range of 112 km is plenty for most urban areas, but you’ll also be able to choose a double this range for those longer commutes.
And the battery recharges in just a few hours.
Arcimoto, which was founded in 2007 in Oregon to build products that catalyse the shift to a sustainable transportation systems, is taking orders for the SRK now for only at $100 deposit.
