COMBINED Motor Holdings (CMH) has moved its UD Trucks dealership
from the Mariannhill truck stop to overlook Pinetown’s new M19 highway from
Devon Road.
Dealer principal Ron Byng told Wheels
the R45 million new facility offers UD Trucks customers sales, service, parts
and finance support.
Admitting they will miss the passing trade brought by the
Mariannhill truck stop, Byng said CMH owns the new shop, which is ideally placed
to benefit from the future highway that will connect the industrial nodes of
Pinetown and Umhlanga.
Area manager for UD trucks sales in KZN, Oliver Whitfield predicted
the new one-stop shop will go from strength to strength.
Apart from a overhead crane that can lift engines or truck chassis
anywhere in the workshop, the new facility has brake roller and brake testing
equipment, roadworthy testing, vehicle financing, maintenance contracts and
transport consultancy services.
Customers also get after-hours servicing, with 24-hour roadside
assistance.
Managing director of UD Trucks Southern Africa, Jacques Carelse
said UD Trucks and CMH have a relationship that spans more than 35 years, with
UD being one of the company’s first franchises.

Carelse said the new facility showed CMH’s commitment and faith in
the UD Trucks brand.
“During the next few years, UD Trucks will be launching a number of
new game-changing products and services.
“We are very excited about the future of the brand in the country
and with the support provided by CMH in the region, we know our customers will
reap the benefits in their businesses,” said Carelse.
Carelse said there were 65 UD Trucks dealers across southern and
eastern Africa.
