Historic track open for pushing the limits

Riaz Chotoo and Iggy (that's the iguana) got
all excited about the rare Nissan 200GS.
GOOD news for all car nuts in KZN, the Roy Hesketh race track in Pietermaritzburg has appointed Wesley Le Roux of We Are Driven Events as the track’s ambassador.
While the long-term lease agreements still stipulate no racing may be staged at the venue, Le Roux said Hesketh now provides “South Africa’s most affordable proper track” to allow drivers to experience their cars on what Motor Sport SA has called “the safest track in SA”.
He told Witness Wheels prices for a half day event is R2 500 and single cars can use the track for two hours for only R300. The facilities now include two lapas and ablutions.

Wesley Le Roux offers the cheapest track days in South Africa.
“Our track provides car owners a safe venue to enjoy their cars, test new suspension or engine set-ups or even for dealers to demo a special model,” said Le Roux.
“The legendary track is the best place to push your pride and joy and hone your own driving skills.”
Two manufacturers have already taken up this offer, with Jaguar having launched their F-Type at the track last month and Mercedes-Benz bringing the new SL400 to the historic track at month end.
On the other end of the scale, amateur KZN rally racer Mel Riggen taught his grandson Ethan Pridgeon (7) the basics of driving in the safe embrace of the Hesketh track. ‘It is not about speed,’ said Riggen, ‘but smooth lines.’
