In 2012, this Golf was the loudest one-door car in the world, producing 162 decibells, which is where sound becomes "violent and induces nausea". |
THE Sidewayz motoring club in Pietermaritzburg has scooped what it
claims to be the world’s loudest one-door car, which can produce 162 decibels
(dB).
The car, which is actually a sound system squeezed into a Golf,
will be on show at the first annual Sidewayz and Monster Energy Auto ’n Sound
Show, to be held at Alexandra Park on October 28.
“This vehicle has to travel on
a trailer because of the weight of the vehicle,” co-organiser Michael Chetty
told The Witness motoring, but he did not want to say what is
inside. “Its a big secret, but this vehicle has set the world record by pushing
out 162 dB’s,” was all he told us.
