Barons VW Durban scoops top awards

VW THIS week awarded its best performing dealers at an annual awards ceremony in Johannesburg.
Ravi Naidoo, franchise executive of Barons VW in Durban, received the “Volkswagen Dealer Group of the Year”.
He told us that staff at Barons VW Durban also won six other awards.
Naidoo was awarded two top seven Major Metro Dealer awards nationally, while Keith Abrahams was the New Vehicles Sales Manager of the Year.
Logasen Pillay was Finance and Insurance Manager, while Dewald Nortier came second as Mastercar Sales Manager of the Year.
Ramesh Cassie was third nationwide as Parts Manager of the Year.
Ranjith Dayaram received the top- selling Mastercar Salesman award.
The Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Dealer of the Year award went to Alpine Motors in Pinetown.
David Powels, MD of Volkswagen Group SA, said their sustained efforts have ensured that Polo and Polo Vivo were the best-selling passenger cars in SA.
From the 105 Volkswagen dealerships, the 11 best performing dealerships were invited into the “Club of Excellence”, where the overall best performer is awarded “Dealer of the Year” status. The award for the Dealer Group of the Year was won by Barloworld, who account for over 13% of Volkswagen’s new passenger car sales. The Barloworld Group delivered outstanding business results among all of its dealerships. In 2012, Barloworld opened a dealership in Soweto in partnership with the Maponya Group.
