Step machine meets trike

THE Me-Mover trike is the latest vehicle that uses a stepping motion to generate movement.
Jonas Eliasson, founder and CEO of Me-Mover said the vision of his Danish design company is to create an active urban life where “efficient transportation, exercise and function blend seamlessly into one another”.

He said the Me-Mover’s pedals were designed to mime the body’s natural movements to make commuting between the taxi and work a fun and, above all, green work-out.
The websites states the trike folds up and can be pulled like a trolley.
The aluminium-framed Me-Mover weighs 20 kg, stands 95 cm high, is 115 cm long and 43 cm wide. Riding on relatively large wheels with a diameter of 30,5 cm.
Specialised transmission with variable gearing enables the trike to reach a top speed of 40 km/h.
The trike is scheduled for a 2014 release in Europe with a price tag of €1 200 (over R16 500) — WWR.
While the price will put the Danish stepper out of reach of most South Africans, the latest obesity study of South Africans by Discovery, which say we make the Brits look thin, suggests that someone should design a local step-and-gijima trike for our society.
