GTR engine in Renault's supercar

Renault is showing the Sport R.S. 01 at the Moscow International Automobile Salon this week. Driven by the Nismo V6 3,8L twin-turbo engine that is designed by affiliate company Nissan for the GT-R, the R.S. 01 will be one of the stars of World Series by Renault in the new Renault Sport Trophy championship, a springboard for the professional GT and Endurance championships. Meanwhile, Autocar reports that Renault also plans to introduce a concept super frugal car at next month’s Paris Auto Show that will impress European drivers even more — as Renault claims their experimental car can go 50 kilometres per litre, in answer to the French government’s challenge to car makers to be more efficient.
