Top end diesel bakkies

The speed needle in the X-Class 350d can go to 205, where it seems to be governed. Don't try this at home!
FOLLOWING the successful market launch of the X-Class’ X 220d and the X 250d May, Merces yesterday (WED) launched the much anticipated double cab with V6 power — the X 350d 4MATIC.
Two models are on order, the Progressive, which sells from R914 711 and the Power, which sells from R983 711.
Nadia Trimmel, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans Southern Africa said the Progressive is aimed at people seeking a rugged double cab with extra styling and comfort functions, while the Power is the high-end bakkie for customers for whom styling, performance and comfort are paramount.
The three-litre six-cylinder diesel engine with common-rail direct injection makes 170 kW and 550 Nm. A 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive with low-range reduction gear and differential lock on the rear axle ensures excellent performance and traction to send the 350d almost any place where its bigger stablemate, the Unimog, can climb. In the rough, the auto box selects any of the seven gears with no interruption in tractive power. Merc dealers are offering the Progressive for R6 499 p/m on Agility Finance.
